Canada Permanent Residency Pathways Set to Launch on 6 May 2021 - Are You Ready?

Canada's new Permanent Residency Pathways are set to launch on 6 May 2021. Under these pathways, at least 90,000 applicants can apply under one of three streams:
  • 20,000 applications for temporary workers in health care
  • 30,000 applications for temporary workers in other selected essential occupations
  • 40,000 applications for international students who graduated from a Canadian institution
The pathways were announced on 14 April 2021 as Canada attempts to meet its immigration targets. However, with the opening of the program in just 3 days we still do not have a guide or a clear indication of what the application process will look like. This is extremely stressful for applicants, particularly health care workers and essential workers who will have to take time off work to try to complete their applications on the day the program opens.

We have prepared this tool based on information announced by IRCC up to now, on twitter and in technical meetings, to help you as you try to assess your eligibility, gather your documents and set up your tools to be able to have the best chance of success when the program launches.
